Sandra’s passion for vintage fashion inspired her to write her Divine Vintage  series set in LaPorte County – including at a fictionalized Michigan City mansion.  She has gathered an impressive vintage collection spanning the late 1800’s to 1900’s, wearing pieces onstage through years of performing in community theater and singing groups.  Her website at SandraYoung.com features her books and a few of the fun garments that are included in them.

About The Barker Mansion Tea Parties

Experience the enchanting allure of the Barker Mansion’s “Tea in the Garden,” an eagerly anticipated affair in the region, now open for reservations for its exclusive summer-themed tea parties.

Immerse yourself in the timeless tradition of afternoon tea, where a delightful array of sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delectable sweets awaits, complemented by a refined selection of teas, all set amidst the picturesque backdrop of the Barker Mansion’s “Jens Jensen” Garden.  Please note that we are unable to accommodate dietary allergies or modify our menu.

Our afternoon teas extend a warm welcome to both ladies and gentlemen, offering a moment of splendid indulgence for all. Children under eighteen are cordially invited to join in the festivities; however, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Each ticket to an afternoon tea at Barker Mansion includes a guided tour of the historic estate. While participation in the guided tour is optional, please note that there isn’t a separate ticket solely for the tea service. The guided tour is an exclusive amenity reserved for guests attending our afternoon tea and cannot be exchanged or utilized on alternative dates.
