Group Tour Experience at The Barker Mansion
Completed in 1905 by railcar industrialist John H. Barker, the Barker Mansion is a stunning 35,000-square-foot residence with 38 historically preserved rooms. Guests will discover the story of the Haskell & Barker Car Company—once one of the largest railcar manufacturers in the nation—and how the Barker family helped shape Michigan City into a thriving industrial hub.
Even more remarkable, 90% of the home’s furnishings, décor, and personal belongings are original, dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. This rare preservation offers a truly authentic glimpse into life during the Gilded Age.
The Barker Mansion is located just steps from downtown shopping, dining, and the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.
